Wadias bring Furla to India

After getting Cavalli in their camp, the Wadia Group has added Italian luxe label Furla to their cache as well. The franchisee agreement will have them stocking accessories from the brand, with the first of the stores opening in Delhi next March.

Buzz is that crystalware brand Lalique too has signed an MOU with the Wadia Group.

Cavalli comes calling

Buzz is that the latest luxury brand to make a foray into India is Roberto Cavalli. The label is rumoured to be making an entry here via a JV with the Bombay Dyeing Group. The Italian designer, known for his over-the-top creations and flamboyant prints, already has something of a following among India's 'bling'tastic swish set. As I'd written earlier here, Ness Wadia, the company's joint managing director, has announced plans to bring several leading luxury labels to India. In fact, the group is heavily investing in luxury retail infrastructure and plans to establish the country's first luxury high street in central Mumbai.
