Discover India in luxury
If you've always wanted to travel across exotic India independently but with expert guidance, the Oberoi Hotels and Resorts now offer various itinerary options through a luxury travel service, called India in Luxury. This includes a visit to the colourful state of Rajasthan, with stops at palaces, forts and temples, and the Ranthambhore tiger reserve. You then move on to Agra to experience the Taj Mahal, and also the majestic Himalayas. Each trip is planned by a Luxury Experience Manager, who organises all details and arrangements, while expert guides introduce travellers to local history, culture and cuisine. You can customise your trip according to your needs and also enjoy Oberoi's holistic spa treatments at a fee between $7,580 to $17,190 per guest.

India on their mind
The Leading Hotels of the World Ltd, the prestigious luxury hospitality organisation representing nearly 450 of the world’s finest hotels, resorts and spas, has appointed Indiva Marketing as their public relations consultant in India. As the largest international luxury hotel brand, the firm maintains offices in 25 major markets across the globe. The objective of the association is to further strengthen the awareness for the brand and individual members of The Leading Hotels of the World among travellers and the travel industry.

Pratap’s Parisian rendezvous
After Manish Arora and Anamika Khanna last year, Rajesh Pratap Singh will be the latest Indian designer to showcase his collection under his own name at this year’s Paris Fashion Week. The master of cuts will show his 2008 Fall/Winter collection next month at the landmark event. The showing has been facilitated by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).

Ode to extravagance
Later this month, Extravaganza, an international luxury lifestyle exhibition and wealth management forum, will be held in Mumbai. Organised annually, Extravaganza is a ‘must attend’ event for high net-worth individuals and their professional advisors. After all, everything that the affluent need or desire, be it real estate, cars, yachts, jewellery, antiques or wealth management, will be available under one roof.

Back to basics
The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and the Paris-based ESSEC Business School are partnering to offer a two-week global executive programme in luxury and retail management, beginning this July. The course will have about 40 seats and professionals with a minimum of five years experience are eligible to apply. Participants will spend a week each in the schools’ Paris and Ahmedabad campuses, and sessions will include managing multi-brand luxury conglomerates, luxury branding, marketing and distribution along with financial management and merchandising. Field trips to luxury companies and stores will also be included.
