Max Mara in India
Kimaya's Pradeep Hirani is reportedly in talks with nine European brands, three of whom will sign a deal for an Indian presence with him in August. The first of the brands is Max Mara, which will launch in India in September.
It will initially be retailed as part of Kimaya in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, and then through stand-alone stores by February 2008. Said Hirani in an interview to DNA, "It's not too high-end, and not too low-end - it's bang in the middle."
More on the Hirani Group, the company is currently constructing a nine-storey luxury mall that will be ready by 2008. Apart from the fashion house Kimaya, the shopping tower will display collections of over a dozen high-end international labels.
"Everything will be available under one roof. There will be a range of couture, accessories and lifestyle products designed by Italian and French style gurus, among other international designers," Hirani said to the Economic Times.
